1000-Ib Sisters Star Tammy Slaton Comes Out

1000-Ib Sisters star Tammy Slaton has opened up about her sexuality.

Slaton, 37, stars in the popular TLC reality show alongside her sister Amy. It follows the sister on their weight loss journeys and private lives.

But now, Slaton has revealed something she never did on the show.

She’s opened up about her sexuality – and even come out!

Slaton’s fans were hugely concerned for her following the events of season three.

The reality TV star’s sister Amy told cameras in the episode: “They’re [the doctors] just telling us that her lungs have given up and like her body is shutting down.

“So at this point, we’re facing making funeral arrangements for my little sister… She’s been in such a bad place for so long.

“She waited too long. And now that she has the courage to step out and get the help that she needs, now this.”

Slaton has been open about her hospitalisation and near-death experience, sharing her perspective with People magazine.

The 37-year-old said: “I’m feeling great! I’m thankful to be alive, and it’s fun to be progressing as much as I am.”

Following the show’s airing, things have improved for the star.

She’s documenting her weight loss journey as she regains her health and her confidence.

In the latest season of 1000-Ib Sisters, Slaton shared her excitement, saying: “When I got on the scale and I saw the scale was at 534.7, I kinda stopped breathing for a second.

“I’m like 14lbs under my goal weight. From over 700, that’s a huge drop. I’m feeling thrilled, proud, excited… just all the emotions.

“I proved everybody wrong. Everybody that doubted me, I finally got mine! My told-you-so moment!”

And now, Slaton has opened up even more.

She’s come out to the public!

Slaton previously came out as pansexual back in 2021 while she was in a relationship with ex-boyfriend Jerry.

During an episode of 1000-Ib Sisters at the time, the reality star opened up to her boyfriend about her sexuality.

“It means love is love,” she told him. “I would date anybody whether they’re transgender, straight, gay.”

She went on to say: “Yeah. Or girl. It’s about how they make me feel, not how they look.

“I always thought I was bisexual, and then I started talking to one of my friends and she told me she was pansexual, and I asked her kind of what it meant.

“It means you love everybody, not just the same s**. And I was like, ‘Well, I guess I am too’, because I wouldn’t mind being with someone who’s transgender, or whatever.”

Although confused, Jerry took the news well, saying. “I still love you.”

He added: “I’m still trying to figure out what it means, but I’m OK with it. I love Tammy the way she is.”

Slaton concluded: “I’m happy because he took it pretty well. Acceptance of people’s sexuality is important to me.”

And since news of Slaton’s husband passing was announced last year, she’s opened up more about her preferences.

She posted a video using emojis for the Pride flag and transgender flag in her caption.

“No, I’m not trans. I’m just a supporter of everybody,” Slaton explained.

“I was saying I was pansexual but I kinda stopped messing with guys after my husband passed. So, I’m like a lesbian.”

She continued: “I was just showing support.
