While walking the streets of Los Angeles, California, a woman named Bridget Blitsch witnessed the most heartbreaking scene ever.
A family who was crying their hearts out was tying their German Shepherd-Malinois mix to a tree in an empty parking lot. After placing a muzzle around her snout and a bag of dog food beside her, they slowly walked away.
The pup seemed to be extremely confused as to what was going on, but she remained calm. She probably thought that they were going to run some errands and come back for her in no time.
However, she soon found out that this wasn’t the case.
A Heartbreaking Goodbye

It didn’t take too long for the pup to realize that her family was not coming back. She began to cry, hoping that her family would hear her and come back for her.
The woman who witnessed this sad scene decided to contact Suzette Hall, Founder of Logan’s Legacy 29, a rescue based in Irvine, California. Hall immediately made her way down to the location, hoping to comfort the sweet girl.
“When you think your heart can’t break anymore, and then you see this. She didn’t know she would never see them again,” Hall wrote in an Instagram post.

As they were waiting for Hall to arrive, the pup, now named Melody, tried to follow her family but she was tied to a tree. Luckily, Blitsch was there to step in.
When the rescuer finally arrived, she was so touched by the scene that she couldn’t control her emotions.
“She was crying, Bridget was crying, I was crying. If Bridget wasn’t at the right place at the right time, [Melody] would probably still be sitting there tied to the tree, wondering where they went,” Hall wrote.

A Light At The End Of The Tunnel
Luckily, this adorable pup became friends with her rescuers rather quickly.
As she was giving Melody some much-needed hugs and kisses, she noticed something hanging around her neck. Biltshcen then shared something heartbreaking.
