Whenever I hear another piece of news about animal cruelty, I cannot help feeling heartbroken.

Instead of loving their pets to the moon and back, cruel people mistreat them and abuse them.

A little puppy named Baby Gina knows how it feels to endure neglect and abuse. She craved love from her owners, but sadly, they abused her and left her behind in a Bronx apartment building.

When she realized that she was abandoned, Baby Gina gathered strength and dragged her exhausted paws along the halls. She was desperately looking for someone who could help her.

Rushing Baby Gina To A Hospital

When a kind-hearted tenant spotted the starving creature wandering the apartment building, she rushed to investigate.

The woman followed the little furry figure and was shocked when she discovered that it was a brown and white puppy.

Baby Gina was only skin and bones. The pup could barely stand on her paws. She seemed lost and confused.

The worried woman reached out to NYC Second Chance Rescue, a rescue in New York, asking for their assistance.

Shortly afterward, the rescuers arrived at the scene. When they saw Baby Gina, they felt devastated.

Baby Gina was rushed to a hospital. She was in terrible condition, exhausted, and vomiting.

The vet team examined her and ran her bloodwork. 

Baby Gina was anemic and she had a urinary tract infection. Her vets were worried that she would get refeeding syndrome, a life-threatening condition.

They gave her immediate medical attention and devised a detailed plan in order to make sure that the puppy got proper medical care. 

With their whole heart, both the rescuers and the vet team hoped that the pup would survive.

“There are so many unknowns. We are just praying she can pull through. She is just a baby,” Second Chance Rescue wrote in a Facebook post.
