\u201cOh, really!? What are we celebrating?\u201d the man asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m on my way to Chicago to sign the contract of a lifetime. This is definitely a champagne moment,\u201d a cheerful Karl explains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOh wow. That\u2019s great. I\u2019m happy for you,\u201d the man said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat is this? The audacity! You take thirty minutes to bring me my champagne, and it\u2019s warm!? Are you serious?\u201d
\u201cHey! A chilled bottle of your best champagne!\u201d Karl barked to the air hostess, snapping his fingers rather rudely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNo problem, sir. I\u2019ll attend to you in a second,\u201d the air hostess kindly responded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thirty minutes went by, and Karl became agitated because he still hadn\u2019t received his order. The air hostess finally came with Karl\u2019s champagne, and Karl was not pleased at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As he was going off at the air hostess, who did her best to hold back her tears, an elderly woman, Anna, stepped into the business class cubicles. Karl was astonished to see the Chief Executive Officer for the very company he was about to sign to. Anna went straight to the air hostess and greeted her warmly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThank you for what you did for me,\u201d Anna said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2019s no problem. It was my pleasure,\u201d the air hostess said, feigning a smile as she wiped her tears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhy are you crying?\u201d Anna asked, concerned. Karl uncomfortably shifted to the side as the air hostess turned to look at him, with Anna following.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWell, I think you should apologize to this young lady.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cUhm\u2026 Just\u2026 I just had a little disagreement with this gentleman here. That\u2019s all,\u201d the air hostess said, trying her best to conceal her hurt and frustration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cKarl? What are the chances of us being on the same flight?\u201d Anna said, shocked to see Karl and curious about what role he had to play in the air hostess\u2019s sudden sadness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cUhm\u2026 Anna, yes, it\u2019s a surprise to see you here. Why are you in economy class?\u201d Karl hesitantly asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWell, it saves me money to give to charity and other worthwhile causes. And you? Why are you making this woman\u2019s job more difficult than it has to be? I heard you all the way from my section,\u201d Anna said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cUhm\u2026 No, it\u2019s just that she took forever to bring me my champagne, and it was warm when it arrived. Poor service delivery,\u201d Karl said, sticking to his arrogance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUhm\u2026 \u2018Would\u2019ve,\u2019 ma\u2019am?\u201d Karl nervously asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cKarl\u2026 I have lots of money, but what would I do with them if my life was in the hands of the stewardess today? Never put yourself above other people. You may need their help. Anyways, we\u2019ll conclude this conversation in Chicago,\u201d Anna coldly said before turning to the air hostess with a smile. \u201cAnd thank you again, my dear.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m sorry! I shouldn\u2019t have treated you like that,\u201d Karl said to the air hostess.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2019s okay,\u201d she responded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anna walked out of the business class section, leaving Karl completely perplexed. Karl became nervous about his contract when their flight finally landed in Chicago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As fate would have it, Anna retracted the offer to Karl\u2019s company, and the deal never ended up happening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
